Sketch.inc’s beautiful wooden dolls are hand-painted in a small studio in the south of England for Danish company, Lucie Kaas. These charming figurines are modern interpretations of traditional Japanese wooden Kokeshi dolls; re-envisioned as famous icons by Sketch.inc’s founder Becky Kemp. The Frida Kokeshi doll was inspired by the traditional Japanese dolls combined with the image of the Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo. Made from solid beech wood and sealed in a hard-wearing satin varnish for a smooth and tactile finish.
